Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers Band

Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist

Sammy Award winner for Best Americana

“Folk music with a serrated edge... A magical blend of storytelling, driving flattop guitar, and earthy percussion.”

—Andy Ellis

The Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers Band plays kinetic folk rock, creating an extraordinarily varied sound with all acoustic instrumentation and lush vocal harmonies.

Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers, the main songwriter and lead guitarist, is a grand prize winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and founding editor of Acoustic Guitar magazine. Wendy Sassafras Ramsay, songwriter and harmonizer extraordinaire, adds flute, clarinet, and accordion to the mix. Josh Dekaney, drummer for Mary Fahl and a wide range of Americana, jazz, and world music artists, performs on a one-of-a-kind hybrid percussion kit, anchoring the rhythms along with John Dancks on upright bass.

The dynamic range and improvisational power of the band is captured on two new releases: the all-original Live and Listening and the EP American Beauties, recorded for a 50th anniversary celebration of the Grateful Dead albums Workingman’s Dead and American Beauty.

“There is something about Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers’ voice that sounds like he’s singing only to you. The musicians he surrounds himself with create a unique musical alchemy that supports Rodgers’ vision of the songs and one another.”
