I’m lucky enough to spend my days and nights immersed in music—listening, playing, writing about it, interviewing artists, teaching it.
I created a Spotify playlist called Free Range Acoustic to share songs that grabbed my ear lately—many from new albums, but with some older gems in the mix as well.
Free Range Acoustic is a kind of personal top 40—a mix of songwriters and instrumentalists whose music touches on folk, blues, bluegrass, rock, and more, but who don’t generally worry about what category they fit into. They play music.
The playlist is definitely shaped by my current projects and includes many artists I’ve had the privilege to meet and share stages with, as well as an occasional track that I’ve released or played on myself.
