Guitar Sessions 25: Play John Prine’s “Hello in There”

In honor of the 50th anniversary of John Prine’s debut album, here’s a lesson teaching how to play “Hello in There”—a song that became extra poignant during the isolation of the pandemic.

Back in Episode 3 of Guitar Sessions, I taught an arrangement of “Angel from Montgomery,” and I also dug into Prine’s guitar and songwriting style in a feature lesson for Acoustic Guitar.

But who couldn’t use a little more John Prine in their lives? So try your hand at “Hello in There,” which like many Prine songs has a sweet fingerpicking part.
